Plasma torch system can be used for surface activation prior to thin film coating to all surfaces. 10 lt (or bigger) gas tubes can be used in our system at any flow rates. The flows of two individual gases can be measured by flow meters and these gases mix in a mixer manifold bfore transferred to torch gasinput. The torch head placed to a quartz tube is designed such that 0.5-2cm long discharge can be obtained. When this discharge plasma beam hits the targets (plastic, glass, metal surfaces), their surface tensions can be increased so that hydrophilic property is achieved. It is possible to get also micro-organism elimination (sterilization) thanks to the surface activation by our torch. This system is used with the RF power supply (our own production) whose output can be set between 0-18kV DC or AC voltages. Besides voltage adjustments, the frequency can also be adjusted between 1-30 kHz. By using this system a variety of high level plasma experiments can be conducted. Torch plasma characteristics can be examined by changing (gas mixtures, flow rates, gas types, power ratings, frequency, etc.). A Rogowski coil placed near the tip of the torch can be used plasma oscillations by an oscilloscope connection. There are 2 inputs for the gases and 2 flow meters before gas mixing manifold. If desired, the number of gas entries can be increased.
